Planning Services for the NEB (New European Bauhaus) Real-World Laboratory ZEKIWA Zeitz (RZZ)Lot 07 – Technical Building Equipment and Engineering Structures→ Application deadline: 06 March 2026
In line with the principles of the New European Bauhaus, the project aims to develop prototypical solutions for building-integrated, “transparent” energy and building services demonstration elements on the ground floor and rooftop. Heritage conservation aspects will be duly considered.

The objective is to develop the brownfield site beyond the image of a “traditional green park” into a flexible, adaptable, and barrier-free open space that enables ecological processes, experimentation, social interaction, and vibrant transformative activities.
In keeping with the project’s model character, conventional planning practices are to be critically re-examined. In this context, interventions, actions, and installations may be implemented as markers or temporary uses.
Under the guiding principles of restraint and mindfulness, approaches to rainwater management, biodiversity, and energy generation in open spaces are to be reimagined while taking social considerations into account. The potential of a self-organized, low-maintenance, community-oriented green space is to be explored in a model capacity.
The design of the open space will prioritize the use of nature-based and recyclable materials. In line with cost-conscious planning, life-cycle costs and maintenance costs must also be assessed and incorporated into design decisions.
Scope of Procedure and Framework Conditions
The call for tenders is addressed to individual applicants and consortia providing proof of eligibility to use the professional title of Landscape Architect.
Only complete applications submitted electronically and within the deadline via the procurement platform will be accepted.
